The Township maintenance department added drainpipes to the downspouts in order to prevent erosion from around the building, and removed several old light fixtures from the exterior.
Volunteers readied the schoolhouse for Founders Day by repainting the front door, reinforcing the trap door to the basement, covering some holes in the floor which were tripping hazards, removing an old standpipe, removing old/loose wiring in the ceiling, and using paint left over from another project/provided by the maintenance department to put a fresh coat of paint on the walls.
After a flurry of vacuuming, mopping, and dusting, the new desks and stools were placed in position.
