[The writer regrets the lack of true and pure intercourse and thinks men and woman should mix as equals. Trust and compassion are lacking, and people should be more warm, open, and sympathetic with each other.]
Oh thou who goest darkly on thy way, lamenting that thou art not blessed, and has no opportunities of blessing others, though the great endowments thou cravest may not be thine, though the love for which thy soul thirsts has not been found though prosperity has not smiled upon thy pathway yet mistake not thy Father’s beautiful gifts....send but a bouquet of flowers to a lonely friend give but a word or smile of encouragement to a desponding brother...invite a wayworn beggar or trembling fugative [sic] to the hospitality of thy home..and thou shalt yet be an hero of the bravest order glorious...are thy opportunities; as thou usest them life shall grow fuller of meaning to thy soul the sky shall bend more beautifully above thee, and a clearer light shall beam upon thy pathway.
