Article #12 - Phrenology

[This paper is difficult to read, being wrinkled, stained, and written in pencil. The author is concerned to defend an interest in the American Phrenological Journal and in phrenology in general. He or she rather condescendingly allows that not everyone may be interested in the subject “because they have no knowledge of it.” The journal is praised as “acknowledged to be one of the leading publications of the day containing the results of almost all important investigations in science...and they who don’t read it will be likely to get behind the time.”

            The reverse side seems to be by another hand, written hastily and in fainter pencil. It is possible only to make out a word here and there.]
